Tales from the Isle of Purbeck MKAL

It’s been a little quiet over here the past few months, so how about breaking the silence with a new pattern! And not only that, but a Mystery KAL! I’m pretty darn excited about this one, the yarn, the design, and the mystery setup is going to be so fun! Just wait to see who will be joining us as we knit!

Unlike typical Mystery knit alongs, with this one you won’t find a project using multiple colours, dramatic stitch pattern changes or unusual shapes, but a gentle piece of soothing knitting, resulting in a pretty and versatile piece which I’m confident will slip right into your wardrobe.

Hole and Sons Pure Wool is the inspiration behind this design – a unique DK single source yarn coming from the Isle of Purbeck, England. As a Brit and farmer myself, I have quite a soft spot for their small batch yarn. Hole and Sons Pure Wool is so purposefully and carefully created – from field, to mill, to your needles – that I wanted to create a design that reflects the yarn’s integrity.
They will be releasing their second batch of yarn this weekend, 2pm GMT Sunday May 10th, and I’m excited to tie in this Mystery KAL with the chance for you knitters to work with this amazing yarn too. You can find more details on the yarn release at holeandsons.com, and if you are on Instagram make sure you are following @benjaminhole for yarn updates. Ben is making huge efforts to ensure this yarn is as transparent as possible – something I admire greatly and want to support. So I can’t begin to tell you how over-the-moon excited that he will be joining us with this KAL!!!…. no, he doesn’t knit, but for each of the four pattern “clues” he will share with us tales directly from the farm.

Sign up and the first clue will arrive in your ravelry library and mailbox May 20th. We will be using the tag #PurbeckTalesMKAL across social media platforms so you can easily connect with other MKAL knitters and see how each other’s projects are coming along. See you in our ravelry group MKAL thread, I can’t wait!
