Yes. I know. Two posts in two days?! Don’t faint. But I have to share with out the most beautiful pattern that was released today! It is the Merriment Cardigan and Bonnet (so I guess two patterns!) by Melynda Bernardi. If you follow her blog French Press Knits… remember those felted slippers?… you will know that Mel has recently taken the well deserved opportunity of being able to stay home with her three gorgeous kiddos, which also allows her to get back to some design work! Yay for us, as she is hitting the ground running with this gorgeous set of patterns!
Needless to say I jumped at the chance to test knit the cardigan. It’s just one of those designs I couldn’t get out of my head. I worked the 2T in Brooklyn Tweed’s Shelter. I already had the red “Wool Socks” and the grey “Postcard” in my stash, and quickly ordered a few skeins of the brown “Nest” from Tolt Yarn and Wool (who have phenomenal shipping speed!). I went up a needle size for everything to get gauge, although this played with my row gauge a bit, and had to compensate in the body for my short yoke – however it all worked out!
Here are the patterns again – Merriment Cardigan and Merriment Bonnet – and not only is there a discount if you purchase both at once, but I believe you can get 20% off though the weekend.. all the details are here. Welcome back to the designing world Melynda!
