Crafting company!

Mum is in town!! I picked her up yesterday evening and, well, this is the state of my dining room table! We are planning, sewing crocheting and knitting projects left right and center! It’s going to be a GREAT 3 weeks!

Whilst I was waiting for her plane to arrive I quickly cast on Piper’s Journey for a KAL with Melissa over at Single Handed Knits. You must check out her podcast. She is an amazingly spirited person, and a great twitter buddy. Coming with a story of her own, she shares with us her knitting progresses and yarn purchases each week, along with swaps and big plans for the future! She is hosting the KAL for Piper’s Journey, a beautiful shawl by Paula Emons-Fuessle of Knitting Pipline, until the end of this month. I went over to look through the FO thread on their ravelry group and was completely swayed by all the amazing knits… so I’ve cast on, and its a race to the finish line!!

I’m using two skeins Black Water Abbey 2 ply Sportweight, which I think was hiding in my stash just waiting for this perfect moment. It is a deep heathered blue, reminding me of the deep ocean. I’m only a few rows in to my Pied Piper, but Mum is about to sit out on the deck so I’m going to join her and squeeze in a few more before goat duties call!

Oh, before I go – Thank you all so, so, so much for your birthday wishes. I had a great day, and a lovely evening out… along with the promise of three pregnant sheep!!.. doesn’t get better than that!

And – don’t forget you still have the chance to win this amazing necklace from Ellie Air! All you need to do is join in the fun over at our new ravelry group, and let us know what you’re up to! More details in my birthday post.

  1. How fun to have Mum in town! In two hours I resume my race to the finish line for PJ! It HAS been a great knit! I have totally enjoyed it. What is even more delightful is having you join in at the last two weeks (smartly I scheduled in a week for “blocking, weaving in loose ends and taking pictures” code for: last minute knitting!)
Glad to have your friendship as a new treat and looking forward to knitting a closer bond!
